Artists
Palma Festival 2024 provides a unique opportunity to meet some of the most outstanding musicians in the industry. Artistic Director Adam Palma is an undisputed guitar virtuoso known worldwide. His album “Second Life” is a milestone in recording history—it’s the first album entirely recorded for acoustic guitar and string orchestra. Palma, having collaborated with top stars of the Polish music scene and guitar legends like Al Di Meola and Tommy Emmanuel, brings his rich experience and passion to the festival.
Alongside Adam Palma, the festival will feature José Torres, a distinguished Cuban musician renowned for his mastery of percussion instruments. Torres, who began his musical career at the Cuban School of Music, later brought his talents to Poland, where he gained recognition and was repeatedly named the best Polish percussionist. His Salsa Tropical Orchestra, the first salsa orchestra in Poland, established him as an ambassador of this energetic style in the country.
Jan Borysewicz, an icon of the Polish rock scene, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and leader of the band Lady Pank, will bring rock energy and a unique style to the festival. His guitar and compositional skills deserve special attention, and his collaborations with artists like Grzegorz Ciechowski and Izabela Trojanowska highlight his versatility and talent.
Leszek Kułakowski, known as a jazz visionary, will also grace the stage. A respected composer, jazz pianist, and educator, Kułakowski’s work blends jazz with classical music, creating extraordinary compositions that have enchanted listeners worldwide. As the Artistic Director of the Komeda Jazz Festival, Kułakowski promotes jazz and culture, introducing new and exciting projects to the stage.
History of Palma Festival
The 3rd edition of Palma Festival will take place in 2024. In previous years, this event has featured artists recognizable in various musical circles alongside Adam Palma on the Włocławek stage. In 2023, the festival saw performances by the First Lady of Polish Jazz, Ewa Bem, and the exceptional maestro Agnieszka Duczmal with the Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra. The inaugural 2019 edition featured composer, jazz violinist, conductor, arranger, and music producer Krzesimir Dębski, and Maciej Balcar, the vocalist of the legendary band Dżem. The earlier form of today’s Palma Festival was the concert “Adam Palma and Guests,” where in 2017, at the “Browar B.” Cultural Center, Adam Palma was joined on stage by Anna Serafińska and Leszek Możdżer, performing together for the first time. Each of these events filled the auditorium of the “Browar B.” Cultural Center with music lovers from all over Poland, which is expected to happen again this year.
