Yamaha Robotics SMT Section has unveiled a new solder paste inspection system, named VP-01G-Y. This system boasts advanced features that enhance quality and efficiency in surface mount technology (SMT) production.
The VP-01G-Y is a device designed for quality control in the assembly process of electronics. It employs advanced algorithms for 2D and 3D analysis of the solder paste structure, ensuring better quality control in the surface mount assembly process of electronic components. This enables precise determination of whether the solder paste has been applied correctly, identifying any irregularities such as insufficient or excessive paste that could affect the quality of the final electronic product. The analysis supports processes like screen printing, dispensing, and component placement. The system compensates for PCB warping and supports the inspection of flexible PCBs. Advanced features include a ring light source providing 360° illumination for reliable inspection and accurate three-dimensional measurements.
The single-head design of the device allows for continuous inspection without the need for switching. It is equipped with lenses offering resolutions of 25 µm, 20 µm, or 15 µm, and software-controlled switching between multiple resolutions. This allows the resolution to be adjusted for each field of view, ensuring the best image quality when inspecting boards with numerous connections and various component sizes, including very small ones like SMD chips 0201 and 03015.
The VP-01G-Y integrates seamlessly with the 1 STOP SMART SOLUTION and YSUP intelligent factory software. This system can easily share data with other devices, automatically adjusting settings based on the type of PCB, transmitting inspection results to improve printing quality, and notifying of errors to reduce component assembly time.
The VP-01G-Y is a modern assembly device that can be installed in a compact space measuring 938 mm x 1191 mm. It is suitable for assembling various PCB sizes, ranging from 50 mm x 50 mm to 510 mm x 510 mm. The device meets production requirements across various sectors, including automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer electronics.
