Contract manufacturing of electronics is an activity that requires a very wide spectrum of knowledge, equipment and devices from the entities that carry it out. In this publication we will take a look at the activity of RENEX Group – one of the largest and longest operating Polish companies supporting the electronics industry – which has set itself the goal of providing a comprehensive range of products and services in this field.
RENEX Group has been operating on the Polish market for over 32 years. The key element of its activity is providing a comprehensive, and thus the fullest possible offer of products and services for the electronics industry. The company’s mission is to support other entrepreneurs, regardless of their scale of activity, in improving their production processes, which translates into the development of the whole sphere of production and repair of electronic devices in Poland.
Consulting, training and services
The Group has created RENEX TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING CENTER, through which it provides a wide range of assistance in the area of training, service and, of particular importance, consultancy support. Stakeholders have the opportunity to learn from and use the advanced equipment and test production lines available on site to develop their own products, processes, and select equipment for their own needs. Importantly, this knowledge and facilities are not limited to the SMT manufacturing area, but extend to all the RENEX Group’s specialisations, such as industrial robotics, metal production and clean room technology.
At RENEX TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING CENTER complete electronic assembly production lines are available on site, including solder paste printers, Pick&Place machines and AOI systems from YAMAHA, REECO industrial robots, solder wave machines, SEC X-ray inspection equipment, portable clean-room clean-boxes, rework equipment or universal industrial robots from YAMAHA. Moreover, within the Center there is a metal processing park and a modern powder coating plant.
Uniquely, the qualified support staff includes specialists in all areas of RENEX’s broad business. Experienced engineers, SMT operators, clean room specialists, programmers and IPC trainers, among others, provide assistance in the development of equipment and processes. The accumulated practical knowledge allows to find in advance the problematic elements in projects, both concerning individual products and the operation of entire production lines, and to eliminate them.
In the field of electronics production, RENEX Group engineering team supports companies at all stages of new product development. Each idea is scrupulously analyzed and verified. A team of experienced designers and engineers from RENEX TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING CENTER, working together, then helps to optimize mass production costs while maintaining the technological and functional assumptions of the product.
RENEX Group also provides consulting support at customer sites. At the customer’s request, its Technical and Commercial Advisors carry out audits of the production lines in operation, of the processes used and of the EPAs, and help to select optimum solutions. An example of such activities are the measurements of electrostatic charge generation level and surface resistance or free solder paste printing preparation services in cooperation with the international brand INDIUM.
Another field of activity of RENEX TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING CENTER is training, carried out within two units: AUTHORIZED IPC TRAINING CENTER and AUTHORIZED YAMAHA TRAINING CENTER.
The first of these units – the IPC AUTHORIZED TRAINING CENTER – is the largest center of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, offering training for electronics engineers covering the full range of IPC standards and courses on anti-static protection. The trainers can boast almost 20 years of experience in developing IPC standards and training materials, training more than 30,000 professionals at home and abroad, and, most importantly, the authority to conduct courses and grant authorizations even at the Certified IPC Trainer level.
As part of the second unit – YAMAHA AUTHORIZED TRAINING CENTER – RENEX Group provides customized training in the programming and operation of SMT in-line machines and industrial robots, so that their operators and users can fully utilize their potential.
In addition to the consulting and training services mentioned above, RENEX Group also provides a wide range of technical support services, including warranty and post-warranty service. RENEX technicians help with the logistics and implementation of both new equipment and situations of moving production lines to new locations. Drawing on many years of experience, they also ensure quick and efficient resolution of potential problems and, where possible, provide technical advice to prevent problems before they occur. The RENEX Service Team has been awarded the title of Best SMT Service in Europe by YAMAHA in 2021.
Products
The support provided by RENEX Group is not limited to training, consultancy and services. As part of its activities, the Group aims to provide the widest possible spectrum of products necessary for SMT operations. This includes small equipment and consumables, as well as entire production lines, and is achieved through both distribution and in-house production.
In order to achieve its goals, RENEX Group has become a partner and distributor of worldwide brands such as YAMAHA, HELLER, JBC, PACE, TAGARNO, INDIUM, MICROCARE, PIERGIACOMI, GERFLOR, SEC and HGTECH. Thanks to that it provides the Polish market with the highest class devices and products necessary in EMS type activity.
It is worth noting that within this business, the Group is the exclusive partner of YAMAHA, both in the field of SMT and industrial robots, which allows for automation of both standard elements of production lines in this industry – based on ready-to-run pick & place machines, stencil printers and AOI systems, as well as non-standard ones – depending on the individual needs of a given company – such as handling and packaging of finished products. As part of its comprehensive offer, complementing the SMT production line, the Group supplies reflow ovens of the recognized American brand HELLER.
The Group also provides a wide range of ESD protection and equipment – including, as part of its own production, specialized furniture and ESD clothing of the REECO brand. REECO furniture is a modular solution that allows to equip the workspace in ESD safety regime. Their construction allows for easy adaptation to the requirements of the working environment. This is in line with the principles of designing ergonomic solutions – both to reduce the risk of occupational illnesses and to ensure high process efficiency. The modularity combined with the consistent quality and availability of the offer over the years allows users to further expand and modify their workspace in line with the growth of their company.
REECO’s range of ESD equipment is supplemented by a wide range of individual protection – especially workwear. The materials used meet the stringent requirements of EPA spaces without generating electrostatic discharges – which are dangerous for sensitive electronic components. At the same time the REECO antistatic clothing – despite its special purpose and the materials used – is produced in such a way as to offer the greatest possible comfort and a wide range of cuts and colors. The high quality ensures a long service life.
In order to provide a comprehensive offer, the REECO brand was also expanded to include the REECO Robot Series, which was developed as part of the RENEX TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING CENTRE mentioned above. These devices allow for an easy – not requiring specialist knowledge – automation of standard, but beyond the SMT line elements of electronics production. Depending on the model, they can perform tasks such as screw assembly, dispensing, conformal coating, soldering or labeling. The flagship device in this series is the REECO Soldering Robot, which is designed for soldering of through-hole components on PCBs.
